Using a lower link mounted suspension design, reworked and adjustable geometry, this engineering best of brings together some of our greatest design pleasures into one adventure companion.
The Hightower has proven to be our do-it-yourself bike since its inception. More agile than its big brother the Megatower and more at ease on steep slopes than its cousin the Tallboy, the Hightower excels when the path taken brings together the best of both worlds and the most beautiful descents come at the cost of long climbs. . The “lower-link” VPP suspension provides a rather linear damping curve, which means it absorbs any shocks while maintaining the progressiveness usually reserved for our downhill bike, the V10!
145mm of rear travel combined with 150mm at the front take the Hightower a step further in terms of capacity compared to the first generation. Coupled with a more prone steering angle of 65.3 °, the Hightower still fits into a relative comfort zone with a certain touch of madness when the going gets tense.
Finding the right balance of stiffness and weight gain in the right place is a hallmark of Santa Cruz and the Hightower claims it even louder. The most advanced carbon frame provides flawless control. It follows the terrain perfectly and reacts immediately to every movement of the rider while limiting the effects of pedaling.
The Hightower also has the famous “Flip-Chip”. In the high position, the bottom bracket goes up, ideal for technical and rocky roads and / or if you use Plus tires. In the low position, the damping curve is more gradual to provide even more resistance at the end of the stroke. No matter what your mood, the tone of the Hightower can adapt to your taste.
There is of course room on the frame to carry a bottle and the threaded bottom bracket provides flawless reliability. The internal passage of the sheaths has been reworked to improve the performance of the transmission, allow a simple installation and avoid any friction on the frame. In addition, there is protection for pick-up transport, effective protection under the frame, a shock absorber mudguard and basic protection that ensures absolute silence.
The lifetime warranty on the Reserve Carbon frame and wheels as well as the free lifetime bearing replacement ensure you will enjoy the best of Hightower for many years to come.
